My friend has gone back now. Or … she might still be in Saint John airport, because her flight to Halifax was delayed one hour (!).
In two weeks, you get almost accustomed to being three people in the apartment — now it feels a little strange, or unusual 🙂.
We didn’t do much today as she had to pack up, but we did produce an apple pie! I shamefully admit that I’ve never made one before. We made it from scratch — the crust and everything. It was amazingly quick, and turned out very good. While it was cooling down, we took a quick walk down to the grocery store and bought vanilla ice cream, to have with it. Scrumptious!
I still have a barking cough from that stupid, old cold, so I actually think I’ll take it easy and rest a great deal the next few days. Constantly switching back and forth between Swedish and English has also taken a toll on my brain LOL.
Lena got to experience, first hand, that I certainly wasn’t exaggerating about the heat and mugginess here! There was only one day — when we went to St. Martins and had the clam chowder, that it was a little bit cooler, but then we got back to this building and everything was the same.
