There’s a large manhunt underway for two escaped prisoners in upstate NY. They’ve been on the lam [not the lamb 🙂 ] for seven days now … stone cold killers. Living in North America, you quickly get used to seeing place names from Europe and other parts of the world. Around here, where I live, they’re mainly from England and Scotland. Aberdeen, Loch Lomond Road leading up the the lake Loch Lomond. I’ve visited New Sweden, Maine … Stockholm, Westmanland …a fellow blogger lives out in Kansas; Falun, Lindsborg. I’m used to that and haven’t thought much about it. Nonetheless, when the news about those escapees broke, and I heard the name of the place where the prison is located, I jumped! Dannemora! At first, I thought I might have mis-heard it, but then I saw it written.
I think what made me react was Dannemora, Sweden is such a small place, most Swedes wouldn’t know of it or where it’s situated unless they’ve got some connection to it. The only reason I knew it myself was my old job … Dannemora is known for its iron ore.
Yesterday, I mainly watched the royal wedding in Sweden.
